House of Representatives Magnet

This magnet features a photo of the House of Representatives Chamber as it stands in Old Parliament House today.

Furnished in green to reflect Britain's House of Commons, the House of Representatives saw many firsts. In 1943, Dame Enid Lyons was the first woman elected to the House of Representatives. Queen Elizabeth II broke parliamentary protocol by sitting in the Speaker's Chair during the royal tour in 1954.
